Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Negotiations for the North Unit began on 17 FEB 2015. The company came to the table with 33 proposals, so far. These proposals have been posted on our website for the membership to view. Some of these include restrictions on grievances and Arbitration, freezing of the Pension, Sunday Premium pay, forced overtime and Short Term Disability language. The Negotiations Committee has been working hard to prevent changes in contract language that is unnecessary. We will continue to work with the company, on behalf of the membership, to reach a fair agreement.
The Union came to the table with ten proposals seeking additional holidays, professional wear and sick pay relief, training language and split week relief. The Negotiations Committee is also seeking improvements in wages and benefits and is trying diligently to minimize any company takeaways. We ask for your continued support during this difficult time as we try to secure a fair agreement for the membership as quickly as possible.
