After almost three weeks of negotiating with the company, we have made little or no progress. As of 7/28/10 the company felt it was in their best interest to present the Union with a package that basically contained 26 proposals as written or amended by the company. The negotiating committee reviewed that package and found no benefit to the membership at all; on Thursday 7/29/10 the committee met with the company and officially requested Federal Mediation.
At this point in time the committee would like to review the contents of the package that was presented by the company at our next general meeting Friday 8/13/10. The location of the meeting is going to be changed to the Clarion Hotel 12635 S. Cleveland Ave (US 41), Fort Myers, at 7:00 PM till 10:00 PM. The proposals in that package will be explained and discussed at this meeting.
Your support in these negotiations is extremely important as it affects your jobs, benefits, wages and working conditions. If you are concerned about your future employment with this company and the impact it may have on you and your families, we highly encourage you to attend this particular meeting!
Brothers and Sisters the fate of this Local Union depends on your support, you are the Union!! Please make plans to attend and participate in this event. Thank You.

You can view pictures of this historic event by clicking the link below. Also, be sure to click on the Local 396 tab to see pictures of their picket which was in conjunction with ours. IBEW396.ORG
